For the first time since 1999 Sweden have claimed the top prize in the Eurovision Song Contest for 2012. The winning entry comes from ex-Idol contestant Loreen (real name: Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui) with her outstanding entry "Euphoria."

Destined to be a cross-over hit, "Euphoria" has already taken Europe and the world by storm, with the track already sitting a top the iTunes charts in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finalnd, Greece, Ireland, Luzemborg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the 28 year-old's homeland. Even here in Australia we're giving the track a good running, with it currently sitting pretty at #16 on our own iTunes chart.

For many years most of the winning entries have lacked the power to make it into the commercial landscape, with the tracks lacking the potential to drive outside of the contest itself. Loreen's "Euphoria" however breaks out and has already proven to be a favourite not just by the contest, but by the public outside of the European territories.

Having already hit #1 in Sweden back in March, we're expecting the single to do much better and on a larger scale, potentially giving Loreen the outside exposure she needs. Hell, even Polish remixers WaWa have given the track additional life through their hot new remix (which you can preview below).

Take a listen below and bath in the awesomeness that is Loreen's "Euphoria."
