After what feels like an eternity in waiting for it to happen, Australia finally rewards Adele's brilliant album - 21 - to #1 on the official ARIA Albums Chart this week.

After spending 14 weeks in the top 50 climbing to the coveted spot ever so slowly, Australia now joins the likes of the US, Canada and the UK in rewarding the album with the big prize. In total album sales, 21 in Australia holds a gold certification (for 35,000+ sales), however worldwide Adele has now clocked up over 4.5 million copies sold - already doubling the effort of her debut album, 19.

Adele's lead single from the release, Rolling in the Deep, has crept up a further two spots to #17 on the ARIA Singles Chart; and as of this week has climbed to #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 (to match it's #2 placing in the UK). Additionally, as we stand today the track is sitting comfortably in the Australian iTunes top ten at #7.

Whilst we're enjoying Rolling and her second single, the UK #1 Someone Like You, Adele is busy promoting her next single across the UK and Europe - Set Fire to the Rain. Watch a live version of the track on BBC's Graham Norton Show below.
