[VIDEO PREMIERE] CHERYL "UNDER THE SUN"

UK pop star Cheryl has premiered the clip for "Under The Sun," the second single to be lifted from her third studio album "A Million Lights." The track follows her third UK #1 single "Call My Name."

The Alex da Kid co-produced track features a video directed by Anthony Mandler, who also directed "Call My Name." Watch the full clip below.

CHERYL COLE RETURNS (AS CHERYL) WITH "CALL MY NAME"

Ex-Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole has returned to the musical spotlight with her new single "Call My Name." The track acts as the lead single to be taken from the artist's third studio album "A Million Lights", out next month.

Dropping her surname and going under the mononym of Cheryl, the "Promise This" singer has employed the talents of DJ-of-the-moment Calvin Harris as key writer and producer of the track. The video, which was filmed in Los Angeles, was directed by Rihanna-favourite Anthony Mandler (Rihanna's "Man Down," Jennifer Hudson's "Where You At").

Just in case you're a little behind, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, or simply Adele, is one of the freshest, rawest, most talented beings to hail from the land of the UK since I don't know when.

Not only is Adele sweeping the worldwide charts with her latest album, 21, but she's breaking records as she does it. Adele's current singles, Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You, sit at #4 and #1 respectively on the Official UK Charts. She is the first artist to have two singles in the top five since The Beatles in 1964.

In addition, both of Adele's albums - 21 and 19 - sit at #1 and #2 on the Official UK Charts. As if that isn't an achievement in itself!

Let's move on.

In case you didn't catch it, but after her brilliant performance at the BRIT Awards just recently, Someone Like You debuted at #1 - a mean feat considering Adele fought off Lady Gaga's Born This Way in the same week when every other country in the world (almost) is seeing Gaga debut at #1.



Ok... but let's not stop there.

On Adele's recent promo tour of the US (that coincided with the release of 21), she performed at the CMT Artists Of The Year Event with Darius Rucker, covering Lady Antebellum's Need You Now. What a performance! If you love the original, you'll die when you hear Adele's.



But wait, there's more.

Speaking of her US promo tour, did I mention that according to Billboard.com, 21 is set to debut at #1 there? I can already see her sweep the Grammys next year...

Phew. I'm almost worn out from the excitement and damage that Adele does to my heart (it may or may not skip a beat every time she sings. Just sayin'). If you are not convinced of her fresh, raw, amazing, unbeatable talent... well I'm sorry, there is nothing more I can do for you here.

The BRIT Awards 2011 - Nominees Announced!

Last night The BRIT Awards 2011 nominees were announced - and what a line up! Lots of favourites were nominated in multiple categories including Tinie Tempah (4 nods), Katy Perry (2 nods), Ellie Goulding (2 nods) and Cheryl Cole (2 nods).

A special mention has to go to Miss Minogue who was nominated for Internatioanl Female Solo Artist, and The Temper Trap who were nominated for International Breakthrough Act. Go Aussies!
