After the success of "Crave You" and "Foreign Language" in 2011, Australian house outfit Flight Facilities returned in 2012 with yet another hit "With You."

Grosvenor's vocals ooze sexiness and desire as he begs his mistress "I just can't be seen by you..." The track is a classic chill-out house number that like their previous material, is a perfect summer jam.

9. Ricki-Lee - Do It Like That

Calling on the #NoPantsBrigade! Australia's own diva Ricki-Lee, somewhat rising from the ashes, unveiled her killer anthem "Do It Like That" following last year's "Raining Diamonds." The jam, which originally leaked under the critically-acclaimed Fred Falke remix, instantly became one of the most addictive tracks on radio.

"Do It Like That" saw Ricki-Lee embrace everything we wanted her to - sexiness, freedom and God damn brilliant pop music. An excellent return to the scene girlfriend!

8. fun. - Some Nights

New York City-based fun. launched their second single, the album's title track, earlier in the year post the belated worldwide success of "We Are Young" (feat. Janelle Monáe). The track became yet another massive hit for the group, cementing lead singer Nate Ruess as a key songwriter in the current age.

Probably the stand out from their album, it was a strong contender across the year - regardless of it's over-play on commercial radio!

7. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

The track that took the world by storm would have to be none other than Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." After the unofficial endorsement by Justin Bieber via his Twitter account, people started to notice (and get slightly addicted) to the ex-Canadian Idol's latest jam.

"Call Me Maybe" is an easy, fun, pop song. That's it - it's simple and effective. And did we mention slightly addictive?

6. Matt Corby - Brother

It's hard to believe that it was five years ago when we met a young, fresh-faced 16 year-old Matt Corby on Australian Idol. Now, the 22 year-old is one of Australia's most successful recording artists signed to UK record label Communion (started by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons)... with four EPs under his belt.

"Brother" is a highly emotional and provocative song. Corby belts out the tune with all his passion and might, captivating any listener upon first engagement. An outstanding release from the "Into the Flame" EP.

5. Marina and the Diamonds - Primadonna

The part Welsh/part Greek beauty that is Marina and the Diamonds (aka Marina Diamandis) teased us with the Stargate-produced "Radioactive" in 2011 - a journey to a pop stratosphere that we'd not heard from the star before. Moving far away from her indie-pop roots we discovered on "The Family Jewels," Marina introduced us to her alter-ego, Electra Heart.

"Electra Heart," as it be named her sophomore album, revealed "Primadonna" as the lead single. Produced by Dr Luke and Cirkut, it became her highest-selling single yet - achieving platinum selling status here in Australia. 

"Primadonna" saw Marina's #Diamonds embrace the new pop star and her obsession with American culture. Throughout this transition though, has the beauty not just become what she mocks the most?

4. Azealia Banks - 212 (feat. Lazy Jay)

Already topping a range of 'best of' and 'up and comer' lists late 2011, Azealia Banks was always going to be someone to listen out for. "212" was released as the lead single from her "1991" EP - and what a debut track. Lyrically coarse (we'll let you Google the lyrics if you don't know them), it certainly turned some heads and meant this girl meant biz-nes.

Throughout the year we were treated to clips for all four tracks off the EP, but "212" still reigned supreme. A hip-hop track that will stand the test of music time, one that only Nicki Minaj could hope for.

3. Calvin Harris - Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)

Just when you thought nothing could get better than the Calvin Harris remix of Florence and the Machine's hit "Spectrum," out Flo and the new David Guetta pop "Sweet Nothing."

Welch's vocals and Harris' progressive house beats are a match made in heaven - making it hard to resist this impeccable tune. One of the stand out tracks, if not the best, from Harris's "18 Months" album.

2. Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

Released as the third single taken from her "Born To Die" album, "Blue Jeans" was a surprising single choice - mainly because it featured so prominently as a highlight of the "Video Games" b-side late 2011. Regardless, Del Rey pushed forward with the release.

Accompanying the official single release was the Yoann Lemoine-directed video, who also worked with Del Rey on "Born To Die." The black and white affair was a stunning visual and a must-see for all.

"Blue Jeans" is classic Lana Del Rey - vintage American, James Dean-esque, love.

1. Frank Ocean - Pyramids

The second single to be lifted from Frank Ocean's critically acclaimed album "Channel Orange" was that of epic proportions. "Pyramids," in it's almost-ten-minute glory, tells us of multiple stories - with the most obvious being about a woman "working at the pyramid tonight."

The track features a mix of R&B and hip-hop, with electro club beats and a John Mayer-led guitar solo thrown in for good measure. "Pyramids" showcases Ocean's brilliant ability to tell a story through his outstanding writing skills, in a track that will be listed as a classic for years to come. A very worthy recipient of our number one single for 2012.

CALVIN HARRIS PREMIERES "SWEET NOTHING" VIDEO FEAT. FLORENCE WELCH

Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris has premiered the video for "Sweet Nothing," the fifth single to be lifted from his upcoming third studio album "18 Months." The track features Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine on vocals.

The video, filed in a Working Men's Club in Dalston, London, was directed by Harris favourite Vincent Haycock, who also directed "Let's Go" (feat. Ne-Yo) and "Feel So Close."

[LISTEN] CALVIN HARRIS PREMIERES NEW SINGLE "SWEET NOTHING" FEAT. FLORENCE WELCH

Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris has premiered "Sweet Nothing," the fifth single to be lifted from his upcoming third studio album "18 Months." The track features the vocals of Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine.

Take a listen to the new track below... it's an instant winner! Expect big things from this in coming months. The single will be released in the UK on 14 October, with "18 Months" to be released from 29 October.

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has revealed the next single to be lifted from his yet-untitled third studio album, the track "We'll Be Coming Back." The future hit features British singer/rapper Example on vocals.

Harris sure has been a busy boy of late - "We'll Be Coming Back" follows his last single "Let's Go," a collaboration with US R&B singer Ne-Yo; his production work on Cheryl's latest jam "Call My Name" and the Scissor Sisters "Only The Horses," and his remix of Florence + the Machine's current single "Spectrum."

FLORENCE + THE MACHINE TO RELEASE "SPECTRUM" AS NEXT SINGLE, PREVIEW CALVIN HARRIS REMIX

UK indie-pop group Florence + the Machine have chosen the fantastic up-tempo track "Spectrum" as the fifth single to be lifted form "Ceremonials," following on from the Australian top three hit "Never Let Me Go."

Whilst "Spectrum" has always been a personal favourite of ours, we were exceptionally pleased to hear that Flo and the team have employed the talents of DJ-of-the-moment Calvin Harris to remix the track. Harris throws down his traditional beats to give the hit that little something extra.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] CALVIN HARRIS "LET'S GO" FEAT. NE-YO

Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris has premiered the video for his latest single "Let's Go," featuring American R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo. The video features just a little bit of product placement... let's see if you can guess which company it is.

Similar to Harris' singles "Bounce" and "Feel So Close," the track peaked at number two in the UK.

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has unleashed his latest single, the pumping track "Let's Go" featuring US singer-songwriter Ne-Yo on vocals.

The release follows in the footsteps of the global smash hits "Bounce" (feat. Kelis) and "Feels So Close." After also producing Rihanna's mega-successful "We Found Love" last year, "Let's Go" should help secure Harris' names in lights again across 2012.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] RIHANNA FEAT. CALVIN HARRIS "WE FOUND LOVE"

Barbadian pop star Rihanna has premiered the video for her current single We Found Love, featuring Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, and I must say, what an exceptional video she has delivered.

Filmed in Northern Ireland the video features RiRi, her man (played by boxer and model Dudley O’Shaughnessy), and their emotionally-driven relationship. From the opening prologue delivered by a young Irish lass through to the departure of Miss Fenty at the end of the clip, the Melina Matsoukas direct video is fully charged.

We Found Love contains a love story caught in a dark place, a hopeless place if you will. Drugs, booze, sex... you name it, it's got it. For me it's like Trainspotting with a Rihanna backdrop. RiRi and co could have taken the route of providing us a cheeky video with RiRi flirty her assets in a club, however we've been blessed with something a little more inspiring with a interesting story to tell.

Well done crew, very happy on the outcome.

RIHANNA DEBUTS ON THE BILLBOARD HOT 100, PREPARES TO HIT AUSTRALIA WITH "WE FOUND LOVE"

Oh she found love a'ight - Rihanna's latest collaboration with DJ Calvin Harris, We Found Love, debuts at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week - her second highest debut on the chart spanning across her entire career.

Billboard also reports that the track clocked up 117,000 downloads in the week, entering the Digital Songs chart at #7.

Not to be too content with that, the lead single from RiRi's sixth studio album is set to debut at #1 in Australia on the ARIA Singles Chart this week having spent most of the week perched atop the iTunes digital sales chart. There is close competition however, with Australia's own Gotye and his current #1 single Somebody That I Used To Know, featuring the very talented Kimbra.

So here it is! Rihanna has premiered her new single We Found Love, collaborating with DJ Calvin Harris. The track was officially sent to commercial radio and digital music retailers today worldwide.

Unlike anything she's really done before, We Found Love is more than just your average pop music track. It demonstrates RiRi's innocent vocals whilst Harris' pounds away with his signature beats. It's not just a pop track people, it's a club track.

Also confirmed, Rihanna's sixth studio album will be released worldwide from 21 November.

RIHANNA DROPS COVER FOR NEW SINGLE "WE FOUND LOVE" FEAT. CALVIN HARRIS

What a busy week in Ri-Ri-La-La-Land. Barbadian Princess Rihanna has today tweeted the cover to her new single, the Calvin Harris produced (and featured, according to the cover) We Found Love.

As I posted earlier this week, the track has been officially confirmed as premiering tomorrow - so expect to hear/see more of this very soon.

Excited? Very, very much.

RIHANNA CONFIRMS NEW ALBUM, HINTS TO COLLABORATION WITH CALVIN HARRIS

In news that has shaken' up the girls and gays worldwide, Rihanna has confirmed that her new album will be with us all during the fall (people, that's spring here Down Under). RiRi's current Avril Lavigne sampling single Cheers (Drink To That) is still riding high in charts worldwide... where does this girl get time to record?

The internet has been crazy with rumours that the lead single, from what will be RiRi's sixth studio album, is produced by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and that the track is titled We Found Love.

Harris, as you would know, it currently taking over clubs and charts alike with his tracks Bounce (feat. new-dance-diva Kelis) and Feels So Close. Harris has worked with a range of pop superstars in the past including Sophie Ellis-Bextor and our very own Kylie Minogue.

Adding fuel to the rumours of the new collaboration - both RiRi and Harris have now tweeted a phrase which many are assuming are lyrics to the track...

"Sometimes it feels like we find love in the most hopeless place"

But wait, there's more. Apparently Rihanna will be premiering the song during Brazil's Rock in Rio concert held Friday 23 September, and according to AllAccess.com We Found Love will be available for purchase from 11 October - that's less than three weeks away.

Summadayze 2012: line-up announced

The Summadayze 2012 line-up has been announced!

Locked in for the event are Pendulum, Snoop Dogg, Calvin Harris, Moby, Tiga and the Scissor Sisters... and that's just to name a few of the big names.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor performs in two exclusive Australian shows

British pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, singer of brilliant hits such as Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) and Bittersweet, will grace Australia in two very exclusive shows in early October.

The team from In The Dark are presenting Miss E-B at Homesexual as part of the New Mardi Gras Big Gay Weekend festivities; and just announced, Sophie will now be heading down south to perform at the Greyhound Hotel the night after.

Calvin Harris is back! After the global success of his first two albums, I Created Disco and Ready For The Weekend, the singer/songwriter/producer/DJ will return with a third offering this year.

Eric Prydz returns with Niton (The Reason)

This track has been a club favourite of mine over the last couple of months - in fact, it's not often I don't love any of Eric Prydz's work. Call On Me [VIDEO], Proper Education [VIDEO] and Pjanoo [VIDEO] are club favourites of mine and many across the globe.

On top of his brilliant solo work, let's not forget to mention his remix work for Axwell, Shapeshifters, Faithless and Calvin Harris - and that's just looking at the last couple of years. Prydz has been remixing since 2002!

Niton (The Reason) is Prydz's latest offering. It has been in circulation for a few months now, however I have been a little slow in getting my post out! What kind of blogger am I... sheesh...

LISTEN TO NEW CHROMEO WITH "HOT MESS" FEAT. ELLY JACKSON

Canadian electrofunk duo Chromeo (childhood mates P-Thugg and Dave 1) may finally have themselves a global hit! The boys, who hail from Montreal, Quebec, have been fairly successful in their homeland, yet they've failed to make a real splash globally.

Chromeo have released three albums over the course of the last seven years - their debut album, She's in Control, was released in 2004. Late 2010 they released Business Casual - their most successful album to date - and off that is the single that I think may make some noise for them globally.

Hot Mess is the name of that track. It's very 80's synth with sexy guitars, very reminiscent of Prince's hey-day. So much so in fact, that I've already been dancing 'round mixing the lyrics of Hot Mess and Prince's Kiss in my bedroom. Hmmm, too much information.

Anywho. What really seals the deal for me is that Hot Mess features the guest vocals of Elly Jackson (lead singer of La Roux). Elly adds the perfect finishing touch to the track. Oh... I just love it!

Better Than Today? No. Kylie's management, you need to call me. Now.

Seriously, I swear Kylie Minogue's management and record company are out to get her. They can be forgiven for releasing All The Lovers as the lead single off Aphrodite (but only just). It is a good track, with it's easy-pop chorus and awesome video clip.

What they can't be forgiven for is releasing Get Outta My Way, remixes and all, weeks and weeks after the hype of the bloody song (causing it to be one of her worst charting singles ever). And, Get Outta My Way clearly has one of Kylie's best video clips of all time.

AND NOW, what they can't be forgiven for AGAIN is announcing that Better Than Today is the third official single off the album.

WHAT THE FUCK?

Yeah alright, the Nerina Pallot penned track is ok. It's a little different with it's kinda country techno vibe, but seriously guys, there are a million better tracks on the album worth releasing.

Cue: Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) written by Australia's own Nervo twins. Or Cupid Boy written by Luciana and Sebastian Ingrosso (of Swedish House Mafia). Or even Too Much penned by Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters) and Calvin Harris for fucks sake.

BUT NO, THEY WANT TO RELEASE BETTER THAN TODAY. SEND KYLIE TO THE REAR END OF POP CHART HISTORY WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE. FUCKING HELL!

Thank God Bimbo Jones was hired to do a fucking remix. That's all I have to say.
