22 June 2011

I'm very happy to announce that the Parklife 2011 line-up has been released - and what a line-up it is.

Locked in for the event are Adrian Lux, Diplo, Digitalism, Duck Sauce, Example, Gossip, Katy B, MSTRKRFT, Mylo, Santigold, Simian Mobile Disco, Aston Shuffle, The Naked & Famous and Wolfgang Gartner. I should mention that this is just the list of artists that I'm excited about!

The event will be held on the below dates and locations:

September 24 : Melbourne (Sidney Myer Music Bowl)
September 25 : Perth         (Wellington Square)
October 01     : Brisbane    (Riverstage & Botanic Gardens)
October 02     : Sydney      (Moore Park)
October 03     : Adelaide    (Botanic Park)

So the big question is... am I too old to be bouncing 'round a music festival with a bunch of teenagers and 20-somethings???

Full the full line-up, including ticket information visit the official Parklife 2011 site. Registrations are available for pre-sale tickets, which will be available from 27 June [OFFICIAL SITE]

Make sure you keep up to date with all things music, like us on Facebook for regular updates.

Yesterday I blogged about one of my favourite artists of 2009, Frankmusik, and it reminded me that I'm yet to blog about one of my favourite artists of this year - Grum.

Grum, aka Graeme Shepherd, is an electonic outfit from the UK. His music is full of sexy 80's beats that remind you of a trashy 80's TV show mixed with the flavour of now... very similar to Mylo or a less-housey version of Calvin Harris.

You'll be familiar with his club hits, Heartbeats and more recently Can't Shake This Feeling. Grum's debut album, also titled Heartbeats, was released worldwide in May and it a definite for any music collection.

One of my personal favourites off the album is Through the Night, so you can imagine I was super excited to see a video made for this single, featured below. I could sit here and explain the concept to you, but I think it's better if you just watch it. All I can say is, pure gold.

Enjoy!
