Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen is making quite an impression here in Australia. The 26 year-old, who originally shot to fame in Canada's Idol series, this week bulleted up to number fifteen on the ARIA Singles Chart with her international debut single "Call Me Maybe."

Co-penned by Jepsen and Marianas Trench frontman Josh Ramsay, "Call Me Maybe" is a pretty catchy pop song... even endorsed by the one-and-only Justin Bieber. After hearing the track played on radio whilst back in Canada recently, Biebs tweeted "Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen is possibly the catchiest song I've ever heard lol." Friends, that is publicity you can't pay for.

Currently the track sits inside the top thirty on the Billboard Hot 100, it has peaked at number one back in Jepsen's homeland, and as of today sits quite comfortably at number three on the Australian iTunes singles chart. Something tells us this won't be the last we hear of Carly Rae Jepsen.

"Call Me Maybe" is lifted from Jepson's EP "Curiosity," currently available in Canada only. The single is available everywhere [iTunes]
