Last night Australia was presented with the 25th ARIA Awards ceremony - and what a night of celebration it was. Favourites Boy & Bear and Gotye cleaned up, as predicted, collecting five and three awards each respectively.

Australian superstar Kylie Minogue was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, by old friend and music guru Molly Meldrum and Prime Minister Julia Gillard. "I'm a very proud Australian. Tonight's award means so much to me," Minogue told a star-studded crowd.
Minogue delivered an exceptional speech; which included thanking her family, her fans and those in the industry.

Other awards on the night went to Cut Copy for their Zonoscope album (for Best Dance Release); Guy Sebastain claimed the Highest Selling Single for Who's That Girl (feat. Eve) and US singer/songwriter P!nk reigned with the Most Popular International Artist.

The coveted Best Male Artist and Best Female Artist awards went to Gotye and Kimbra; with Single of teh Year and Album of the Year going to Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know and Boy & Bear's Moonfire respectively.

Australian indie-electro outfit Cut Copy have released a video for the fourth single lifted from their Zonoscope album, the track Blink And You'll Miss A Revolution. One of the strongest tracks on the album it's good to see it get a single release.

The video is, umm, interesting. Watch it to see what I mean.

Blink And You'll Miss A Revolution and Zonoscope are available digitally today [iTunes]

Who on earth are Garçon Garçon? Well, you'd be talking about two sexy Sydney boys by the name of Nick and Nathan. The boys (to quote their Facebook fan page)...

"... (combine) new wave synths with a unique '80s feel and a dash of blatant pop, Garçon Garçon write intelligent songs with catchy hooks. Coming from different musical worlds of classical and punk rock, the duo conjure a sound as complex as it is podium busting."
Nice. For me the boys remind me of a raw Cut Copy. All fresh and young, with that 80's-synth feel that makes my heart skip a beat. It's just like when I heard Frankmusik or Grum for the first time. Love, love, love.

Garçon Garçon's debut single, Stay in Touch, was released only last week. I'm very excited about their first release, and it's great to see these boys get some decent press (see: DNA Magazine, SX Magazine, TimeOut Magazine).

Me - do I like? Yes. Me - do I approve? Yes. Me - will I be following these boys until their new EP (aptly titled "EP") comes out? Yes.

Should you be doing the same? Yes. I think we'll be hearing a lot more from these beautiful Sydney boys - look out!

Whilst some of us are still basking in the beauty that was Cut Copy's last album, In Ghost Colours, it's hard to believe that the album that debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, was released over two years ago. How quickly time flies, and how amazing are summer days when you're rocking out to Lights & Music on the beach...

Anywho. Fast forward to now, actually to February 2011, and Cut Copy will release their much-anticipated third album, Zonoscope. The title and cover art (left) were launched a few weeks ago; however today I have the pleasure of introducing you to the official lead single off the album, Take Me Over (cover below).

The track was uploaded to Modular People's soundcloud account a couple days ago, and this week, was also released digitally in Australia (purchase on iTunes here).

I'm hearing hints of Fleetwood Mac (the track Everywhere I think), with a little bit of synth and disco-pop. I personally love it, and can't wait for the album. I'm just a little disappointed I have to wait 'til after summer to hear it!

As a side note, some of you are probably lucky enough to see the boys headlining the St Jerome Laneway Festival in February 2011 across Australia. I missed out on tickets, so I hate you if you are going to see them.

Enjoy the track, and don't forget to tell me whether you love it as much as I do!
