MADONNA CONFIRMS 2012 SUPERBOWL XLVI

After the swirl of rumours that have been circulating the web over the past few weeks, Team Madonna have just confirmed that the legendary performer will indeed play at the 2012 Superbowl XLVI on February 5. Take from Madonna's official Facebook:
Dang! Can't wait for this performance, especially after reading that the team from Cirque du Soleil are part of the show.

"We are happy to confirm that Madonna will perform in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5, as announced during tonight’s game on NBC! The Material Girl has partnered with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, Jamie King, and multimedia artists from Moment Factory, to create a signature performance for the Super Bowl’s Halftime Show, which will be broadcast worldwide."

JENNIFER LOPEZ TO RELEASE GREATEST HITS ALBUM IN 2012

Global superstar Jennifer Lopez is set to release a Greatest Hits package in 2012. Producer Kuk Harrell recently told MTV:

“I just got the call a week ago that the greatest-hits album for Jennifer Lopez is coming up. Now I’m just waiting for them to put on the schedule [and] let me know what songs we’re actually cutting and stuff like that.”

Excited? We are. With a plethora of hits like On The Floor, Waiting For Tonight and If You Had My Love; it can only be a compilation of epic proportions. Whilst no official tracklist has been announced, we've done our best to compile what we believe the album should look like. Take a look below!

[VIDEO PREMIERE] LADY GAGA "MARRY THE NIGHT"

Let's have a conversation about Lady Gaga's latest video installment, the fourteen minute footage that is Marry The Night.

Most have been waiting in anticipation for the release of the Gaga-directed clip, and since it's delivery a few days ago it's caused more disruption to the pop music world than Beyoncé's pregnancy. We've read countless reviews on the video - who likes it, who loves it and who loathes it - and we're kind of, well, torn.

Marry The Night, clearly one of the best tracks from the Born This Way era, deserved an epic clip. Think Bad Romance and Telephone; but instead what we got was something that kind of left us feeling incomplete. We don't hate the video nor do we love the video... it's just that we don't get the video.

The video really deserves to be split into two halves - the first and the second - in order for us to kinda understand or appreciate it.

The first half we spend the eight minutes watching Mother Monster in hospital crying "I'm going to be a star", muffling French as she's showing her titties, performing obscure ballet in her signature shoes and bejazzling her God-knows-what. If you can comprehend what's actually going on for the duration of this mini-movie, please email us directly so we can also know. We hear it's about Miss G prior to fame, but we believe the crux of it all is explained in three simple letters... WTF.

The second half is where the action finally arrives. Gaga's signature leg-spasms (otherwise known as the Irish Jig), awesome choreography in the streets of New York, an appreciation of dance studios and rehearsals (an ode to Fame?), making out with a hot trans-am and hats that are too big for anywhere. This part of the clip brings a big smile to our faces and this is what we, and no doubt you, want to see.

So to Lady Gaga, our dear friend and beloved pop star whom we idol oh so much (still), please cut the bullshit and do what you do best - sing, dance and deliver to your Little Monsters. Leave the directing and cinematography to the people who know what they're doing, the professionals.

NICKI MINAJ RELEASES "ROMAN IN MOSCOW" AS NEW SINGLE, REPACKAGES "PINK FRIDAY: ROMAN RELOADED"

Ghetto superstar Nicki Minaj is preparing her 2010 LP Pink Friday for a re-release, delivering Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The first single from the revamped album, and tenth single overall from the campaign, is Roman in Moscow.

“Roman in Moscow is like a teaser to Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” said Minaj to MTV, “which will drop on Valentine’s Day. When I say it’s a teaser, it’s like a trailer to the movie, it’s like setting the stage and I just wanted to touch the surface.”

Minaj has also teased the video concept for the video which features the Minaj’s alter ego named Roman Zolanski (a take on director Roman Polanski for those that don’t know), who travels around the Russian capital with monks and nuns in an effort to rehabilitate himself.

DAVID GUETTA TO RELEASE "TURN ME ON" FEAT. NICKI MINAJ AS NEXT SINGLE FROM "NOTHING BUT THE BEAT"

David Guetta's platinum selling album Nothing But The Beat keeps on pumping out those hits - scheduled to be released as the album's fourth official single (fifth in Australia if you include Titanium which features our very own Sia) is Turn Me On feat. Nicki Minaj.

The track, co-penned by pop writing superstar Esther Dean, has already gained chart success upon the original release of the album peaking at #35 in Australia and #37 in the US. With the video completed last month, directed by Sanji, let's see whether Guetta can score himself yet another global top ten smash.

New York's latest to spill from its talent pool, Lana Del Rey, has premiered her latest single - the track Born To Die, which aids as title track from her upcoming debut album (cover above). The track surfaced over the last few days and follows the UK #9 hit Video Games and equally as good double a-side Blue Jeans.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] NICOLA ROBERTS "YO-YO"

After teasing us with multiple vids which include behind the scenes footage of her latest clip, Nicola Roberts releases the full video for Yo-Yo, the third single to be lifted from her acclaimed debut album, Cinderella's Eyes.

The video is directed by Freddie Helwig, who coincidentally shot all the photos as part of the album campaign (which features as single covers for Miss Roberts).

LISTEN TO MADONNA'S "MASTERPIECE" TAKEN FROM "W.E." SOUNDTRACK

A new Madonna track, Masterpiece, has surfaced online in the last few days. The ballad, co-penned by the star and produced by William Orbit, is set to feature on the soundtrack of the upcoming film W.E.

Not content with appearing on one magazine cover for the month, Lady Gaga appears on Elle UK in two different covers. Talking to the mag, Mother Monster opens up about some of her most personal details.
