American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has premiered the video for "Lock Out Of Heaven," the lead single from his upcoming sophomore album "Unorthodox Jukebox."

The track, co-penned and co-produced by Mark Ronson, sounds like it was inspired by legend rock group The Police. Watching the video we certainly feel like the "Grenade" star wants to take step back in time, with a 70s/80s feel throughout the clip. And, does anyone else feel like they see a resemblance to the King of Pop in this clip as well?

We expect this to do well for the 27 year-old, with the track debuting at #20 here in Australia this week on the ARIA Singles Chart.

US singer/songwriter and (somewhat feature artist of the moment - he's everywhere!) Bruno Mars has premiered the video for It Will Rain, the first single to be lifted from The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn soundtrack.

The single marks Mars' fifth consecutive top twenty single in Australia and the UK, so far peaking at #20 and #16 respectively. With the release of the upcoming film we should expect to see this rise further in the coming weeks.

The second single from The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn soundtrack, Christina Perri's A Thousand Years, had it's video premiere last week. Catch a glimpse of the clip which highlights various scenes from the upcoming film here.

Twilight fans will be beside themselves when they realise that the video for Christina Perri's latest single A Thousand Years, taken from the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 soundtrack, contains footage from the upcoming movie.

The track, written by Perri, serves as the second single from the album following Bruno Mars It Will Rain which was released back in September.

Listen to It Will Rain

Says Perri of writing the track:

"I wrote [the song] for Edward and Bella in their perspective. It's the purest love song I think I could have possibly written. It's about the simplest kind of love and a timeless love." She further explained, "For me, it just has to do most with the love story between Edward and Bella. I feel like it's 'Romeo and Juliet,' and they just happen to be vampires and there's werewolves. I loved the story from day one."

Adele's outstanding album 21, and Katy Perry's collaboration with Kanye West, ET, take out the top selling album and digital track respectively in the US - according to Billboard's mid-year charts.

Since it's release in late February, 21 has sold in excess of 2.51 million copies - an outstanding feat for any artist. Coming in at second place is Lady Gaga's Born This Way with an impressive 1.54 million copies sold (much of which was moved in it's first week of release). Coming in at third place is Mumford & Sons with Sigh No More on 982,000 copies.

Other notable album mentions are:
+ Bruno Mars' soul-tastic Doo Wops & Hooligans at #5 with 686,000
+ Chris Brown rise to F.A.M.E at #7 with 646,000
+ Nicki Minaj's debut album Pink Friday at #9 with 609,000
+ Katy Perry's luscious Teenage Dream at #10 with 600,000
+ Rihanna's real Loud at #11 with 598,000
+ Britney Spears' return to the spotlight at #12 with Femme Fatale with 590,000

ET, Perry's fourth single to be lifted off her Teenage Dream album, has moved over a staggering 4.1 million downloads, and is followed closely by Adele's Rolling in the Deep on 4.08 million downloads. Coming in at third place is Cee Lo Green's masterpiece Fuck You (Forget You) with over 3.2 million copies sold.

Other notable digital track mentions are:
+ Lady Gaga's return with Born This Way at #4 with 3.02 million
+ Rihanna's raunchiness with S&M at #5 with 2.7 millions
+ Jennifer Lopez's RedOne production with Pitbull, On The Floor at #6 with 2.6 million
+ Bruno Mars with two appearances - his explosive Grenade at #9 with 2.3 million, and The Lazy Song at #15 with 2 million

Billboard has reported that both album and digital singles are up year on year with an impressive 1% and 11% respectively. In addition, album sales are up from this point point last year for the first time since 2004! What's even more impressive is the volume of talented pop artists in both charts.

Far East Movement; the boys that brought us the platinum #2 single in Australia, Like a G6; return with another hit (expected to hit the ARIA #20 this weekend). Rocketeer is the name of the new single, and it features guest vocalist Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic).

I actually really like this track. It's has Tedder's familiar yet beautiful/soulful vocals in the chorus, and the FEM boys elsewhere. It's a solid pop number, but I doubt it will match the global success of Like a G6. Will it be a radio hit? Probably.

What I did find surprising was that Tedder didn't contribute to the writing of the track, however another super global success - Bruno Mars - did. Nice.

Well, well, well... hasn't Mr Peter Gene Hernandez, aka Bruno Mars, been busy in 2010!

He's featured on some of the biggest numbers this year - Nothin' On You by B.o.B, and Billionaire by Travie McCoy. He's also co-penned some of the biggest numbers this year - Fuck You by Cee Lo Green, and Right Round by Flo Rida.

Not to be content with that above, Bruno has just released his debut album, Doo-Wops and Hooligans. The album features the global smash hit Just The Way You Are and his latest single, Grenade.

Just The Way You Are went to #1 in over eight countries, including the big markets - US, UK, Canada and Australia - and Top 5 in another eight. His follow up single, Grenade, looks like it may also provide Bruno with some very well-deserved recognition again, as it bullets it's way into the top 20 of the US, Canadian and Australian markets.

A bit of trivia for you - did you know that young Peter received the nickname Bruno by his father as a child as he was a chubby boy, and there was a chubby wrestler at the time called Bruno Sammartino? Fact!

To quote a great girlfriend of mine "Bruno sounds like a young, raw Michael Jackson" - and I couldn't help but agree. The similarities are there in the voice, the emotion and the definite early signs of success of this rising star. Whilst Just The Way You Are was a great song, for me Grenade is superb. Love it, love it, love it.

Doo-Wops and Hooligans is out via iTunes Australia now. Do yourself a favour and purchase it.
