[VIDEO PREMIERE] Britney Spears // Till The Worlds Ends

Whoa, oh-a, oh-a, oh-a, oh!

Britney Spears has premiered the video of her latest single, Till The Worlds Ends, the second single to be lifted off her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale. The clip is one of two to be released - this seems to the apocalyptic version, the other is the choreography version.

Things to note about this video:

+ Whilst the track was co-penned by Ke$ha, I wasn't under the impression Spears was also taking video clip advice from her as well...? Brit even looks like she's been styled by K$ - minus the trademark glitter of course! Although... it does kinda look like we're recycling an old red jumpsuit in there... are we Team Brit?

+ Whilst the "world is ending" there seems to be lots of underground club-slash-sex action going on. For some reason I feel like I'm watching a mash-up of the opening scene from Blade and an apocalyptic take-over from War of the Worlds. Or a sequel to another video perhaps...?

Anyway. My verdict for the Ray Kay directed video is, I LOVE IT. I don't care if Spears looks like she's loving it in some parts, and bored in the next, for me the clip is awesome! Enjoy!!!

[VIDEO PREMIERE] Kelly Rowland feat. Lil Wayne // Motivation

Seems as though I'm the last blogger to post about Kelly Rowland and her latest video premiere, Motivation, which features (annoying and unnecessary) Lil Wayne. Somewhat deliberate in my delay, it's driven by the fact that Miss Rowland perplexes me with her music - as you would have read in my recent rant whilst praising her on the brilliant collaboration with Alex Gaudino.

Motivation fails to provide the dance floor vibe that When Love Takes Over and Commander delivered, however it does see Rowland get her sex on in a big way. Whilst I'm not really a fan of the track, she clearly looks like a frickin' honey.

Anyway, I shouldn't complain. If record executives only listened to my choice of music and singles we'd have Kylie Minogue release Get Outta My Way as her lead single from Aphrodite, complete with a digital  single and video at the point of which it was released to radio. God forbid that happen, Kylie may even have had some success with that single release! The very thought of it!!!

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED... COCKNBULLKID?

Umm - do we need to talk about the name? Yes, the name. CocknBullKid is the stage name for a lurvely 25 year old singer/songwriter who hails from Hackney, England. Born Anita Blay (apparently too plain for some), she'll release her debut album, Adulthood, in May.

Having supported Marina & the Diamonds, Kele (of Bloc Party) and Janelle Monae on their recent tours all within the last twelve months, CocknBullKid has also found time to admit she'd kill a pigeon if she could. Ok, so that's a bit random I know - but it's something she said in a recent interview with Robot Pigeon and I thought it was funny.

As an artist CocknBullKid sounds a little bit like Santogold... that indie-pop-synth sound that is nothing short of pleasant to the ears. Others may think she's a little more MIA, but according to a recent interview with Paul Lester of The Guardian...

"...People put me in the MIA category, but I'm not grime and I'm not some 'ghetto princess'. I want to make pop music. The media put black people in boxes. It really irks me."

Ah, so there. No box putting please. In fact, Miss 'Kid cites her influences as David Byrne, Grace Jones, David Bowie and Kate Bush. A nice combo actually, and certainly nothing like MIA.

We were treated to One Eye Closed late 2010, and since then we've heard Hold On To Your Misery and her most recent single, Asthma Attack (my favourite - video below). The album, as mentioned earlier - Adulthood, will be released in the UK late May. Unfortunately no sign of an Australian release as of yet.

My final verdict on what I've heard so far - CocknBullKid offers a fresh, unprocessed, raw talent that will quite easily compliment an already great selection of new artists to arrive on the pop scene in the last 6-12 months. Let's maybe just do something with that name, shall we?

[VIDEO PREMIERE] Armin van Buuren feat. Laura V // Drowning

Armin van Buuren has released the fourth official single off his 2010 Mirage album, Drowning featuring UK singer Laura V on vocals. The video has premiered online in the last couple of days (below).

Definitely one of the strongest tracks on the album (behind Not Giving Up On Love featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Feels So Good featuring Nadia Ali), Drowing won't disappoint AvB fans at all!

Freefallin' gets a WaWa treatment!

Can't breathe. Can't move. The official international release of Zoë Badwi's platinum sensation, Freefallin', features remixes by Moto Blanco and WaWa. Holy mercy and all that shit.

In the interim, take a listen to the WaWa mix. I think I just died, went to gay heaven, came back to life, and am now beginning to love the track that came in at #2 on my Top 50 for 2010 all over again.

[REMIXED] JENNIFER HUDSON "WHERE YOU AT"

I've been meaning to get this post out for a while now. You see, I wanted to get a Remixed post up some time ago, but every time I'd go to do it I'd get distracted and end up writing about something else. Or... get stuck playing Words With Friends on my iPhone. Or... craving a Campos coffee. Or... watching the lights flicker in the sky. Ohhhh... pretty lights.

Where was I?

Remixed. That's right. The Remixed post will be an opportunity to pay homage to the great remixers of this day - Freemasons, Cahill, Bimbo Jones, Dave Aude, Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, David Guetta, Avicii, etc. I could go on and on, but you catch my drift.

You see sometimes an artist will release a track and it's nothing short of pure brilliance. It needs no adjustment, in fact, it's just dandy the way it is. Sample: Dirty Talk, Wynter Gordon [VIDEO]

Other times an artist will release a track and it's ok... but it's kinda missing something. Enter one of the said remixers and it's an instant jam! Sample: Finish Line (Freemasons Remix), Yasmin [VIDEO]

Then of course there are times where you're like - WTF? What a crap follow up to a previous brilliant song. Someone better do something here and KAPOW, before you know it the remixer enters and it's brilliant. Sample: Good Girl (Freemasons Remix), Alexis Jordan [VIDEO]

So, here we have it. Today's Remixed entry is for the only other great American Idol, Jennifer Hudson (the only other in comparison to Kelly Clarkson that is). J Hud returned to us with her second studio album only last week - matching the #2 placing for her debut record with I Remember Me.

The R Kelly penned Where You At was released as the lead single back in February. Whilst it's a good song reminding us that J Hud's power vocals are those to rival Queen Bee Whitney Houston, the track received mixed reviews and barely made an impact on the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at #64).

For today's post, enter Dave Aude and KAPOW - gay boys are twirling all 'round San Francisco to this number. Aude's mix provides Houston Jnr's soulful vocals with that extra bop that gives the number the needed boost. Now don't get me wrong, I love the original, but the remix gives me the best of both worlds!

[FRESH RELEASE] Nerina Pallot // Put Your Hands Up

Most of you probably wouldn't have heard of Nerina Pallot, unless you're a true, dedicated pop lover. What you would know of is one of her most recent tracks - Better Than Today, or Aphrodite for that matter. But wait, aren't they sung by Kylie Minogue? Oh yes, they certainly are dear readers. Pallot in fact penned and produced those tracks with husband Andy Chatterley for Miss Minogue!

Apart from the songwriting credits for those Kylie gems, Pallot has indeed her own solo career. Back in 2005/06 she released her most successful album to date, Fires, which spawned the singles Everybody's Gone To War [VIDEO], Learning to Breathe [VIDEO] and the beautiful Sophia [VIDEO].

Pallot now returns with a track that was written for Minogue's recent album, but was skipped due to the album already hosting a track of the same name - Put Your Hands Up. Instead my dear readers, the track is released as Pallot's lead single of her fourth studio album, Year of the Wolf - both released in May.

Put Your Hands Up is a nice return to the pop scene in 2011, and hopefully provides a great preview to a much-anticipated album. A one minute audio piece has been posted online (below), so enjoy this whilst we wait for the official video to be released!

[FRESH RELEASE] JENNIFER LOPEZ FEAT. LIL WAYNE "I'M INTO YOU"

Whilst Jennifer Lopez enjoys the success of On The Floor as it sits pretty at #1 in over ten countries worldwide, including Australia and the UK, we're treated with a new release - her latest single, the Taio Cruz penned track, I'm Into You. Featuring Lil Wayne (ugh), the track is the third official single to be released off the Love? album which is released globally in the coming weeks.

As you may have guessed from my "ugh" comment above, the inclusion of Lil Wayne is far from necessary if you ask me. And, unfortunately I'm Into You is nothing like the RedOne produced On The Floor either. On saying that however, it's still a good tune. Locally it was released to Australian radio this week - so expect to hear more of it soon.

The video is being filmed as we speak, but for now, enjoy the audio below.

Side note: whilst the official track list for Love? is yet to be released, some of the recorded tracks floating around the 'net are written/produced by the likes of Wynter Gordon, Lady Gaga, Pharrell, Jean Baptiste, and Darkchild. OMG.

Following on from the worldwide smash that was Hello (which features the vocals of Dragonette front-woman Martina Sorbara), Martin Solveig returns with another smash hit, Ready 2 Go, with features Bloc Party front-man, Kele Okereke.

The track is to be lifted off Solveig's fifth studio album, SMASH, due to hit shelves in the next quarter, but you can check out the audio now online via YouTube - or check it out below. Stay tuned for the actual video clip, which I'll post when available.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] KATY PERRY "E.T." FEAT. KANYE WEST

And it's here - Katy Perry and Kanye West in their much-anticipated video for Katy's fifth Billboard #1 single, E.T.

The video for the Dr Luke and Max Martin produced single is nothing short of visually stunning. There will be obvious comparisons to Gaga's Born This Way video with it's supernatural themes, however Perry's clip is somewhat more visually pleasing. Regardless, it definitely seems as though Perry has taken a leaf out of the artistic catalogue.
