RIHANNA DEBUTS ON THE BILLBOARD HOT 100, PREPARES TO HIT AUSTRALIA WITH "WE FOUND LOVE"

Oh she found love a'ight - Rihanna's latest collaboration with DJ Calvin Harris, We Found Love, debuts at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week - her second highest debut on the chart spanning across her entire career.

Billboard also reports that the track clocked up 117,000 downloads in the week, entering the Digital Songs chart at #7.

Not to be too content with that, the lead single from RiRi's sixth studio album is set to debut at #1 in Australia on the ARIA Singles Chart this week having spent most of the week perched atop the iTunes digital sales chart. There is close competition however, with Australia's own Gotye and his current #1 single Somebody That I Used To Know, featuring the very talented Kimbra.

Demi Lovato has confirmed the second single  lifted from her recently released Unbroken album, the track Who's That Boy featuring Californian singer Dev.

Following on from the Billboard top ten hit Skyscraper, Who's That Boy is an almost-sexy uptempo track produced by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder.

Whilst I have confirmed release date or single cover as of yet, rumours have it we'll be seeing something in October.

Just when you thought Katy Perry had exploited her Teenage Dream album enough by scoring five Billboard #1 singles, well think again. Mrs Russell Brand has confirmed that The One That Got Away will be the album's sixth official single.

Apparently a Dr Luke induced remix is due to hit the airwaves from 11 October, coinciding with a digital release of the single. Stay tuned for more information, including the official cover. **

After a string of promotional singles which include Love On Top and 1+1, Beyoncé confirms that the third official single to be lifted from her 4 album is the track Countdown.

UK singer/songwriter Pixie Lott had unleashed the follow up to her #1 UK single All About Tonight, the track What Do You Take Me For featuring rapper Pusha T.

HAVANA BROWN FEATURES PITBULL WITH "WE RUN THE NIGHT" US RELEASE

Australian female DJ extraordinaire Havana Brown is getting ready to tackle the US with her double-platnum ARIA hit We Run The Night.

Employing the talents of almost-overdone producer RedOne and Mr Worldwide rapper Pitbull, We Run The Night receives a makeover in readiness for the tracks release for the picky market stateside.

In my opinion, I'm not sure that it hits the mark. It throws the original production into a psychotic fit, which is disappointing due to the fact that it didn't really need a complete makeover in the first place.

The whole debacle reminds me of what Ministry of Sound insisted WaWa do to Ricki-Lee's outstanding chart-topper Can't Touch It, completely chopping it up and turning it into U Wanna Little Of This. Don't get me wrong I love the boys from WaWa as they've produced and remixed some of the best tracks, but this mix turned Can't Touch It into a generic sounding club anthem like everything else in the UK.

Back to Miss Brown. I really do hope this does well for her in the US, but I'm not convinced a glossy RedOne tag with a 30-second rap by my Cuban doppelgänger is going to cut the mustard.

Canadian singer/songwriter Lights (full name: Valerie Anne Poxleitner) has premiered the video for the lead single from her second studio album Siberia, the electro-pop beauty Toes.

This is the first of new material since her 2009 debut album The Listening, which achieved top ten status in her native homeland and spawned the singles Saviour and Ice.

When comparing Toes to that of her earlier work, it sounds as thought Lights has matured in her taste and style, yet still kept the freshness in her music. Siberia, which will be released 4 October in the US, the UK and Canada, will now be released  28 October in Australia.

RIHANNA CONFIRMS NEW ALBUM, HINTS TO COLLABORATION WITH CALVIN HARRIS

In news that has shaken' up the girls and gays worldwide, Rihanna has confirmed that her new album will be with us all during the fall (people, that's spring here Down Under). RiRi's current Avril Lavigne sampling single Cheers (Drink To That) is still riding high in charts worldwide... where does this girl get time to record?

The internet has been crazy with rumours that the lead single, from what will be RiRi's sixth studio album, is produced by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and that the track is titled We Found Love.

Harris, as you would know, it currently taking over clubs and charts alike with his tracks Bounce (feat. new-dance-diva Kelis) and Feels So Close. Harris has worked with a range of pop superstars in the past including Sophie Ellis-Bextor and our very own Kylie Minogue.

Adding fuel to the rumours of the new collaboration - both RiRi and Harris have now tweeted a phrase which many are assuming are lyrics to the track...

But wait, there's more. Apparently Rihanna will be premiering the song during Brazil's Rock in Rio concert held Friday 23 September, and according to AllAccess.com We Found Love will be available for purchase from 11 October - that's less than three weeks away.

Read All About It is the first of new material for English rapper Professor Green, featuring the very talented Emeli Sandé on vocals.

The song (which hauntingly reminds me of Love The Way You Lie by Eminem featuring Rihanna) is a brilliant track that could quite easily be a big hit for the pair. Its mainstream feel is commercially friendly, and given the recent success of Sandé's Heaven, radio may just jump on it.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] Frankmusik feat. Colette Carr // No ID

No ID is the third single lifted from Frankmusik's second studio album, Do It In The AM. The track, which was released digitally last week, features fellow label mate Colette Carr on vocals.

The video for the single is a Grease inspired event - complete with their own version of the T-Bird jackets, but of course they feature the Cherrytree Records logo.

No ID is available digitally today, with Do It In The AM available from 26 September (UK and US only) [iTunes]

[FRESH RELEASE] Alexis Jordan // Laying Around With You

Good Girl Alexis Jordan has released a lyric video for the fourth single to be lifted from her eponymous debut album, the track Laying Around With You.

The Ne-Yo penned / Stargate produced number is the first ballad in the series of singles, and is what I imagine to be the last single from this campaign. Happiness was a great success globally, you could even say that Good Girl did quite well itself... but Hush Hush failed to make an impact. Let's see if Laying Around With You bucks the trend.

[FRESH RELEASE] DEVolution feat. Amy Pearson // Good Love

UK singer/songwriter Amy Pearson has lent her stunning vocal talents to electronic outfit DEVolution for their recent single, Good Love.

The track, which walks the boundaries of pop/dubstep, is an addictive number that should please the likes of those loving tracks like Louder (DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans) and the Skrillex remix of Cinema (Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go).

This is Pearson's first attempt at chart action since 2009's Butterfingers - a brilliant track that unfortunately didn't achieve the status it should have.

AMY WINEHOUSE TALKS RECORDING "BODY AND SOUL" WITH TONY BENNETT

On the back of the forty-odd second preview that emerged on the internet a few weeks ago,  an additional video has been posted on Tony Bennett's VEVO channel featuring the late Amy Winehouse.

Not only do you get an extended preview of the track, but in the video Winehouse talks about how she came about the collaboration with Bennett, Body and Soul.

PREVIEW NEW COLDPLAY WITH "PARADISE"

Coldplay have dropped the cover for the second single to be lifted from their Mylo Xyloto album, the track Paradise. The single follows on from the Peter Allen-sampling Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, which peaked at #6 in the UK.

[VIDEO PREMIERE] AVRIL LAVIGNE "WISH YOU WERE HERE"

Canadian singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne has premiered the video for the third (and potentially the last...?) single from her Goodbye Lullaby album, the ballad Wish You Were Here.

Whilst What The Hell achieved top ten status in Australia, New Zealand and her native Canada; the whole Lullaby campaign has been pretty dull for Lavigne. Wish You Were Here is a strong track,  but I'll be surprised if it matches the success of tearjerkers When You're Gone (form 2004) or I'm With You (from 2002).

[FRESH RELEASE] Craig David & Erick Morillo // Get Drunk Up

UK singer Craig David has teamed up with Colombian/American music DJ Erick Morillo for his latest collaboration, the house track Get Drunk Up.

Keeping in theme with his recent collaborations Fly Away (with In The Screen & Rony Seikaly) and Do It On My Own (with Remady), David familiar vocals seem quite comfortable over the thumping club beats.

[FRESH RELEASE] Stan Walker // Light It Up

Australian Idol 2009 winner Stan Walker has unleashed his new single, Light It Up, produced by American DJ Static Revenger.

The track follows on from Walker's platinum selling single, Loud, his second most successful hit. Light It Up continues Walker's movement in the pop/dance/club space with an energetic beat and infectious chorus. A very likely hit that I'm sure commercial radio will pick up instantly.
